This course is designed for people who require a licence to practice in order to work as a contracted security guard. The qualification is endorsed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and learners who have completed it successfully can then apply to the SIA for a licence.

The Level 2 working as a door supervisor (QCF) qualification, allows you to work as a door supervisor and also as a security officer in a retail or static guarding role; this is a mandatory course for these roles. Those wishing to work as CCTV operators, involving surveillance of public spaces require a licence to practice. The Security Industry Authority endorses this qualification. Completion of this course will enable you to apply to the SIA for a licence.

From October 2021, Door Supervisors will need to complete top-up training before they are able to renew their licence. This Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) course, is designed for candidates who currently hold an SIA licence to work as a Door Supervisor and need to up-skill, in line with the new licence-linked SIA requirements.
